Forrest Dwayne Reynolds

November 17, 1939 - March 2, 2024

Austin, Texas - Forrest Dwayne Reynolds,84, died peacefully, at his home in Austin Texas, on the morning of March 2, 2024. Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 6th, at Resthaven Cemetery in Wichita, Kansas.

Dwayne was born on November 17, 1939, in Wichita, Kansas, to Eva Marguerite Reynolds and Forrest Glen Reynolds. He was the youngest of five children. Dwayne married Margerita Copeland at the age of 17 and together they had four children, Ronn, Bret, Mark, and Jami. Their marriage lasted 28 years. He then moved to Austin, Texas where he later married his second wife, Roxanne Skolaut, in 1986. He became a father figure to her son, John Skolaut, and adopted him into the family. They were married for 26 years. All said, Dwayne had 5 children, 12 grandchildren, an d 19 great grandchildren. He loved every one of them deeply and enjoyed spending time with them whenever he could.

Dwayne learned the construction business as a carpenter, foreman, and superintendent, before starting his own construction companies in Wichita, Kansas, Reynolds Construction and Creative Construction Corporation. After moving to Texas, he worked for R.T. Mayfield Construction and Robbies Construction Corporation before going back into business for himself with REYNolds Construction, Inc. (ReynCo, Inc.). Dwayne retired in 2007.

Dwayne was an inspirational coach to many young athletes in the Wichita area and helped many of them progress in their baseball careers. He was a devoted Christian and loved the Lord. He was deeply involved in the church his entire life. In his later years, he was a member of The Lakeway Church in Lakeway, Texas. He was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Reynolds, his father, Forrest Reynolds, his three sisters, Betty Hoshaw, Jeane Stringer, and Rosalee Agee, and his daughter-in-laws Debra Reynolds and Carol Reynolds. He is survived by his brother, Phillip Reynolds and his spouse Sandra of Sunnyvale, CA, his five children, Ronn, Bret, Mark, Jami and her spouse Scott Weston, and John Skolaut and his spouse Missy Akings Schuman, his 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
