Viv and family-
When I heard the news, my heart felt your pain and loss. I had flashbacks of Pat sitting outside smoking, raking leaves as fast as dad and helping me find someone to fix mom's kitchen, because I butchered it. He always seemed to save the day. And of course, the lawn wars, how could we forget how beautiful the lawns were when dad and Pat were competing. I think they had their own special golf course. You guys were amazing and loving neighbors to my parents and Pat was a very special man. As I was cleaning out my parent's home, he stopped by and asked me if I was okay, I can remember it like it was yesterday. He was a calming, caring force and so unbelievably giving. He was the true sense of a servant. My boys and I want to express our deep appreciation to you for allowing us to be part of your lives, for splashing in your pool and for being there for all of us as we said goodbye to Matt, Mom and Dad. I am so sorry for your loss but at the same time I'm so glad for your memories. He was a true neighbor and honestly no man fulfilled, "love your neighbor," more than he did. I wish I could be there to hold you the way you all did for me. Please know that the entire Zimmer and Rogers family love you and are lifting you up asking the Lord to be with you in this great time of loss. As one parting thought, at least the lawn wars are happening in Heaven and as we speak, Dad and Pat are getting to plant the most beautiful lawn of all. Sending our love. Thanks for being there for us and please feel free to reach out anytime.
