Jim was a lot of fun in the West High school band. I was glad to get to talk with him at our 50 class reunion last summer. He never lost his positive attitude!

My family and I are very sorry to hear of his passing. I have very fond memories of eating at Taco J's ever since I can remember. Ever since I was born, my dad always took my brother and me to eat at Taco J's. Every time we saw Jim, he always had a smile on his face and looked forward to serving us. He will be missed.

Conley Family:

I recently learned of Jim's passing and wanted to take the opportunity to express my deepest sympathy for your loss. Like so many people, I knew Jim through Taco J's. But where I differ is that I wasn't a customer; I was an employee (from 1984 – 1986). He was good man and I carry fond memories of him, Carole and that time with me still today.

May the many wonderful times you shared together help you through this difficult period.

Thanks Jim for the best Flour tacos and nacho supreme I've ever had. I still try to make it down there for a fix when I am within 50 miles.

My family and I have been patrons of Taco J's since he opened the doors, And when our kids come to town that is the very first place they go to right when they hit Wichita . I personally go there as much as I can and everytime since Jim has not been there I always asked the employees how he is doing. The last time I got to see him was when I winterized the sprinkler system, he came out in a robe and said hi!!!! I
am so grateful that i had the pleasure of myself and my family of having the pleasure of knowing Jim !!!! We will miss him each time we go in the store

Jim: I discovered your restaurant in 1991. I really enjoyed the smile that greeted me and the fact that you knew my name when I'd come in to eat. I'll never forget sitting in the restaurant with my friends and hearing you call out when orders were ready for pick up. "Number 12", "Number 13", "Dave"

You have been in my prayers for these past couple of years as you fought your battle with cancer. I am so sorry to lose your presence here on earth, but so happy you are in heaven and don't have to fight this terrible illness any longer.

God Bless You and your wonderful family.

Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to Carole, Tiffany, Heather, Chris, their spouses, kids, grandkid & his 2 sisters. He was a great guy. He had a heart of gold and his memories will remain in our heart and mind forever. He made great Mexican food and his sanchos are the best I have tasted. I have never met a man like him. He fought a long and courage battle and won in the end. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his loving/caring family that took great care of him during his illess, you all will get an extra star in your crown some day. RIP Jim, you will be missed by all they knew and loved you.
