Jay McNeil

October 18, 1934 - August 21, 2025

Wichita, Kansas - Jay C McNeil, 90, loving husband and father, geologist, outdoorsman and long-time resident of Wichita, Kansas, passed away August 21, 2025. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, Marilyn (Heter) McNeil, and survived by daughters Marcelyn, Shelley and Krista, sons-in-law Marco Salinas and Frank Pilarski, seven grandsons and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be held graveside at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 29, 2025, at the Sterling Community Cemetery, Sterling, Kansas. Visitation on the 29th will begin at 10:30 AM in the Sterling Cemetery Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Brain Research Foundation at https://www.thebrf.org/donate/

Jay was a sweet man and a wonderful neighbor. We enjoyed hearing his many stories that surrounded his work as a geologist as well as his days in Sterling. He will be missed in the neighborhood but the memories made with him will remain.
