Jerald L. "Jerry" Livingston

March 13, 1953 - August 13, 2024

Kingman, Kansas - Jerald L. "Jerry" Livingston passed away Aug. 13, 2024 in Kingman after a brave, hard fought battle with colon cancer.

He was born March 13, 1953 in Kingman, Kansas, son of Joy and Wilma Livingston. He grew up in Kingman and graduated from Kingman High School in 1971. He attended college at Pittsburg State University where he earned a Bachelor Degree in Education.

Jerry taught school and coached basketball at Argonia, Quinter, Rexford, and Kingman, Kansas.

He was most proud of his time as basketball coach of Golden Plains High School at Rexford when in 1985 he coached the only Kansas high school basketball team to complete an undefeated season. His team had a win/loss record of 26 - 0 and won the Class1A State Basketball Championship. He and the entire 1985 Golden Plains team were inducted into the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2010.

Jerry was a huge fan of Kansas State University football and basketball. He seldom missed a home football game and attended many home basketball games. As an alumni of Pittsburg State University he also followed the PSU football team and attended many of their home games.

Jerry was a life long member of Kingman First Presbyterian Church and had recently served as an Elder. He was currently serving on the Kingman High School Hall of Fame selection committee.

He is survived by his brother Jim, sister-in-law Cynthia, eleven cousins, and several second and third second cousins and their families. He is also survived by his close friends, Steve & Cinda Geesling, Jerome & Nancy Hageman, their families, and many more good friends.
