John A. "Boots" Edgar

FORT SCOTT - Edgar, John A. "Boots", 67, a former resident of Fort Scott, Kansas, and more recently of Wichita, died Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at the VA Regional Medical Center Hospice in Wichita, Kansas. He had served with the United States Navy during Vietnam. He was a member of the Derby V.F.W. Survivors include a brother, Vincent Edgar, Wichita, Kansas and a sister, Mary Louise Harkins and husband, Bob, Goodland, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Viola Ruth Edgar and a brother, Wesley Edgar. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, June 6, 2011, at the U. S. National Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Olson Frary Burkhart Post #1165 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Friends and family may meet at the Cheney Witt Chapel prior to leaving for the cemetery at 9:45 a.m. Services are under the direction of the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel, 201 S. Main, Fort Scott, Kansas.
