John Shaffer Obituary

Shaffer, John 82, entered the presence of his Lord and Savior on October 16, 2016. After retiring from 36 years at Coleman Company, he volunteered for the Red Cross for 10 years, and then drove for Enterprise Rent-A-Car for 16 years. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 20, 2016, at Downing & Lahey West Mortuary. Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2016, at Believers Southern Baptist Church. Graveside Service will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2016, at Greenwood Cemetery, Newton, KS. Preceded in death by his parents, Raymond C. and Ella Shaffer; daughter, Lori Lynette Dixon; 6 sisters; 2 brothers. Survived by his wife, Roberta; son, Doug (Kristin); daughters, Teresa (Jim) Fields, Lisa Shaffer; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren. Memorials have been established with Believers Southern Baptist Church, 13909 W. 21st Street N., Wichita, KS. Share tributes online at: www.dlwichita.com

John you will be in my thoughts for ever as we had so many good times together at Enterprise, you would not know them today not a good place to work anymore none the less I think of you often and keep in touch with your beloved wife Roberta. rest in peace and I will be at your grave on Veterans Day with old glory for you.
