Hey Karen,
Crazy how it´s been three years since I posted and so much has happened and I want to tell you so much, but then I just stop and keep trying to remember all of my memories of you. I don´t want those to ever fade. I often wonder what life would be like with you still here. I can still hear your voice and your laughter.
Miss you

I’m still here and I’ll keep this going until either this site shuts down or I fly up to heaven to see you again. I can only smile when I think of you and thank God that I was given the opportunity to know you. You are forever in my heart.
Love you
Miss your face

So long ago, yet seems like yesterday, we were hanging out and talking about absolutely nothing and we were both cool with that. I can still see your smile. Not a day goes by I don't see your face. Love you forever and always. You will always be in my heart.

To the whole Javier family. When I came to Magdalen Karen was the first to reach out to me. Our families lived down the street from each other and we became friends instantly. Memories of Rockwood pool, sleepovers, Kapaun football games etc. Karen and I stayed in touch through college years as well. She bought a Yorkie from my parents named him Ollie. I was fortunate to have had close information given to me through Karen's battle with cancer from her sister. I had a three visits with Karen before she passed and I will never forget that. It was so hard to see her, but I' glad I did. She was a beautiful person inside and out. A wonderful friend she was and I think about her everyday until we meet again. God only takes the best and she was that. Prayers and thoughts of Karen are with me everyday for the family. She was taken away to soon and we will never understand why. I miss you greatly Karen. I know you are pain free.

To the Javier family:
I taught Karen mathematics at Magdalen and she was a close friend of my daughter, Tara. After our move we lost touch with her, but I will always remember her as a very bright, witty, sensitive young lady who had a wonderful sense of humor and a beautiful smile. I can only imagine the sense of loss you feel, but I know that you rejoice because she is no longer in pain and is smiling that beautiful smile in the presence of our Lord. May God continue to grant you His comfort and peace.

Although time and distance separated us, I was heartbroken upon hearing the loss of my old friend. From first communion to family vacations, cheerleading to simply hanging out... I remember Karen as a kind, smart and beautiful young woman. She will no doubt be an amazing angel, just as she was a person. My prayers and love to those closest to her during this time.

I went to Magdalen and Kapaun('99). Though I was a few years younger than Karen, I remember walking the halls of both schools and seeing her in them. When I was very young, in grade school, my friends and I all thought Karen was the prettiest eighth grader there. It saddens me to think of how young she was to have had to fight the battle she did. My prayers are with her and her family in this hard time.

I taught Tony. and Tina in 3rd. grade at Magdalen. My daughter was in Karen's 3rd. grade class at Magdalen. My life was graced by knowing Karen and all of you! Your family showed such gentleness, joy and faith to everyone around you at Magdalen. All of you have grown to be such beautiful adults with your own children. We are deeply sorry for the loss of your beloved daughter, sister, aunt and faith filled friend, Karen. May your loving memories with Karen bring you much comfort as each day goes by...remember she is within each and everyone of your hearts ...and walks with you each day. Karen is one of those people who leaves a mark wherever she goes. Whether in high school, hanging out at me & Nikki's house, college or working together at Outback she was always a joy to be around. Always smiling and giving everything her best, she touched many lives. She will truly be missed and her family will be in the prayers of many. Those of us who were lucky enough to be touched with her spirit are eternally grateful to her for the happiness that she exuded and the contagiousness of her smile.

Karen's family -
I am so very, very sorry for your loss which all of us who knew and loved her are suffering with you.
I knew Karen throughout her school years at Magdalen. She was a cute, sweet little girl who grew to be a lovely young woman. I will keep her and you, her family, in my prayers.
March 15, 2007
Karen’s passing will be a real loss to all of us who knew and loved her. She was a special person with a special love of life. It hurts so much to see her on the obituaries but it hurts even more to see her name added to the list of the victims of cancer. This is a mean and vile disease. But I praise God that Karen no longer suffers from it.
I have envisioned heaven as anything from a cotton candy cloud world with gardens of roses and daisies and flowing streams. Of course none of us knows what or where we go to after life – but I remain fast in my belief that God did a great job with this existence in so many ways that what comes next must be perfect – free of disease and pain and separation. I believe that Karen’s spirit has survived to a better existence that we will all share someday….
In Christ love,
Steve, Angie & Family

Tony, I witnessed your tender, steadfast devotion to your beautiful, gentle sister. The quiet strength, dignity and elegance you both displayed throughtout this horrible battle have left me with deep admiration.

Karen & I went to grade school together at Magdalen. When she was visiting L.A. for business we had a chance to reconnect & laugh about old times. I have always admired her for being so kind to everyone, intelligent (she was always one of the smartest in the class), beautiful, & a strong athlete (we played on the basketball team together & she could dribble circles around the rest of us). When I saw her last June, I was happy to see she was the same down to earth person I remembered, but she had an added emotional strength I will never forget.

My deepest condolences go out to Karen’s family. When I think of Karen, I think of her warm heart, her engaging smile, and her contagious giggle. I am so thankful for meeting her through Delta Gamma at WSU. I will never forget the image of her standing at the doorsteps on bid day in her red and white gingham shorts and straw flip flops. It’s so very sad to hear about Karen. I went to school with her from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Even though we hadn't kept in touch much since graduating, I remember her very fondly. Karen's family,
I taught Karen, Jr. high social studies at Magdalen and have lost touch after moving away. A former teacher has kept me abreast of her illness and valiant fight. Karen had the most winningest smile and beautiful personality with just a little mischief in her eyes. Needless to say she kept me entertained!
