Kasey Owen Obituary

Owen, Kasey L., 25, The Boeing Store, Wichita sales manager, died Tuesday, July 8, 2003. Service 3 p.m. Thursday, Resthaven Mortuary. Preceded in death by mother, Pamela J. (Bess) Owen. Survivors: daughter, Katie Owen, parents, Richard and Denise Owen, brother, Courtney A. Owen, sister, Sarah Bateson, all of Wichita; stepbrother and wife, Jamie A. and Lisa Coyne of Goddard; grandparents, Barbara Bess and Jack Traw, C.L. and Virginia Owen, all of Wichita; niece, Shelby Coyne, nephew, Blake Coyne, both of Goddard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to a trust established on behalf of her daughter, Katie, in care of Riverside Christian Church, 1001 Litchfield, Wichita, KS 67203.

Kasey used to come out to see our band when she was stronger--she'd get on the stage and play tambourine with us, and I remember thinking "she's got a ton of strength and courage". I also can't imagine the strength of the Sister and Family who cared for Her. We thank Sarah for keeping us updated on Kasey's condition. Her pain is gone--and when you are together again, may your happiness and joy in this young lady come back to you tenfold. We'll keep Kasey's Daughter and all of you in our thoughts and prayers.

Kasey and I graduated together from West High in 96, she was a strong and fearful person. I will always remember her with that big pretty smile that was on her face everytime I saw her.
