Wichita, Kansas - Keith F. Eckerman, 88, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020. Keith was preceded in death by his wife, DeLoris Eckerman; son, Douglas Eckerman; and brothers, Robert and Dean Eckerman. Survivors include his sons, David Eckerman (Barbara), Danny Eckerman (Michelle), Dennis Eckerman (Karla), Donny Eckerman (Wendy), and Dale Eckerman; daughter-in-law, Christy Eckerman; brothers, Paul and Jerry Eckerman; sister, Karen Tye; grandchildren, Angela, Michael, Chelsey, Ashley, Matthew, Candice, Brandon, Cameron, and Connor; great-grandchildren, Jayden, Aydan, Kowyn, Lyla, Elliana, Cooper, and Colton. Rosary Service, 7:30 pm, Wednesday, Oct. 21, and Funeral Mass, 10 am, Thursday, Oct. 22, both at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 132 S. Millwood Ave. Memorials to: Interim Hospice. I believe is was May of 1986 when I was hired by Metal Improvement Co to be a Sales rep for the former Walcher Metal Treatment Co that they had recently acquired. I had a decent Metallurgical background but not much heat treating experience. I was soon given an office to share with Keith and over several years learned from a Master. But not only that, I got the experience of sharing that office with a Man who loved his Wife and Children. I believe what was more important than learning about heat treating and Metallurgy was learning about being a loving caring human, when I paid attention. I'm so sorry I wasn't in town to attend Keith's service, to honor his life. I want his family to know how much I appreciate my time with Keith and the positive impact he made on me.

Keith raised 6 sons to be strong and independant thinking even tho they all had a "D" in their name. Doug went first but his children are doing a great job with Christy's leadership and I bet the help that Keith provided.
