Laurence Eckerman Obituary
1932 – 2025
Larry Eckerman died on Friday, March 7, 2025 at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, CA, following several weeks of complications from Pneumonia. Larry was 92 years old, he and his wife, Brenda had been residents of Valencia since moving into Old Orchard II in 1970.
Brenda and Larry met in 1967 while they were both teaching at Manual Arts High School in Los Angeles. They were married in 1969 and moved to Valencia, where they raised two daughters, Celes and Laura who, according to verified sources, absolutely slay. Larry spent his professional life working as a Guidance Counselor at Sierra Vista Junior High and later at Saugus High School.
Throughout his life, Larry was a constant presence at Our Lady of Perpetual Help church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteered across a myriad of church functions from counting collections to delivering meals to the homeless.
Larry led a life of unwavering service to others and his humour and generosity will be missed by those who knew him best.
Brenda and Larry are survived by their daughters, Celes Eckerman and Laura Egloff; sons-in-law Arne Fuglvog and Markus Egloff; and grandchildren Alessandra and Gabriel Egloff.
A funeral mass for Larry will be held at 10:00 on Friday, April 11, 2025 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 23233 Lyons Avenue, Newhall, CA 91321.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in memory of Brenda and Larry Eckerman be made to Planned Parenthood Los Angeles, 7100 Van Nuys Blvd #108, Van Nuys, CA 91405 www.supportpp-la.org

I worked with Larry as a guidance counselor at Sierra Vista Junior High School. He was a dedicated, professional, always helping students navigate challenges and achieve their goals. I always appreciated his advice and intellect.
He was most proud of his family, his loving wife Brenda and wonderful daughters Celes and Laura. He will be missed.
