Margaret Nicely Obituary

WHITEWATER - Nicely, Margaret H., passed away in her sleep on Sept. 26, 2008. Born in Lawrence, Kan., on Oct. 3, 1926, she lived the last two years of her life in Whitewater. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Margaret Gibson, Augusta, Kan.; brother, Robert Gibson; sisters, Kaye Brown, Jean Worrall, Shirley Brown, Phyllis Torkelson and former husband, Harry Nicely Jr. Survivors: sons, Mike Nicely (Yo) of Cheney, Don Nicely (Judy) of Augusta; daughters, Pat Thorne (Lyle) of Whitewater, Deb Nicely (Dr. Bob Wilson) of Boston, Mass.; grandchildren, Andrea Smith (Pat), Alan Nicely (Katie), Angie Nicely, Chet Thorne (Sheri), Brad Thorne (Jo), Scott Groom (Kelly), Wayne Groom, Brad Groom (Rochelle), Dean Groom, Brice Nicely, Eric Wilson (Michelle), and Brian Wilson (Jean); 17 great-grandchildren; Mt. Harry Nicely's brothers and sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret was retired and loved to garden and feed wild birds. Thank you so much to Dr. (Katie) Mroz, PA, Kim Abear, the hospital staff of Wesley Medical Center (10 Tower) for the wonderful care you gave her, and to Good Shepherd Hospice for your loving care that allowed her to spend her last days viewing her gardens and bird feeders. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, at Augusta United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice, in c/o the funeral home. Arrangements by Lamb Funeral Home, Whitewater.
