Mark Dopps Obituary

On a lovely spring day, March 31, 1951, Mark Alan Dopps was born to Bruce and Viola Dopps in Wichita, Kansas. Mark loved his childhood adventures. Wonder-filled eyes, and an imaginative mind, soon lent him the nickname ""Twinkles."" A strong work ethic fostered in youth served him well through life.
A boy of humble beginnings constantly pondering life around him, how the world was created, engineered or operated was his passion. He was crazy about cars, planes, jet skis, boats, and motorcycles. With age, he grew to be an intelligent doctor fascinated with healing arts and nutrition. Mark made several trips to Russia and China helping mend broken bodies and souls. Mark reared two fine sons, Matt and Luke. He loved time spent with them on holidays in Arizona and trips to the mountains. Building and creating with his brothers and sons was a great joy for Mark, whether he was working in Colorado, his elk ranch or at home. With those he loved, a great meal was Mark's delight. He could spin a story masterfully. A great sense of humor and deep joy made his tales delightful. Esteemed or modest, Mark was a friend to all. A generous giver, compassionate to those in need. Mark was persuasive and passionate, but kind. Driven and determined, but humble.
Mark joined his grandparents, parents, a brother Rick, and several nieces in heaven. Remaining are Mark's wife April Dopps, sons Matt Dopps (Alison), and Luke Dopps (Christa). Mark also preceeded Olivia Bowers and Natalie Oliverson (Wyatt).
Later, Mark's life was made rich with grandchildren Grace Dopps, Paige Dopps, Braiden Dopps, Chloe Dopps, Jacob Dopps, Katie Dopps, Logan Dopps. Also remaining are Allison Burns and Violet Bowers.
Mark leaves many behind including siblings Fred Dopps (Nancy), John Dopps (Jody), Robert Dopps (Linda), Brad Dopps (Rhonda), Dan Dopps, Naomi Hurst (Don), Sharon May (Bob), Melita Bryan (Brant) and many nieces and nephews who were his biggest fans!
Seeds of faith planted early in Mark's life took deep root. Unwaivering reverence and profound awe were mature fruits in his life. After a baptism in the Jordan River, God's spirit blossomed more fully in Mark's heart.
Mark loved to travel and see the amazing world that God created, but his heart was always happiest when he returned home. And, so it was October 3, 2023 when life's journey ended. With that twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face, he joyfully returned home. Delighted with the wonders he had seen, but oh, so happy to be once again, and finally home.

I was really impressed with the service for Mark today. Mark was a long time friend as were all the Dopps boys. I can still see Mark & Rob & Richard (rip) & John & Brad all of us sitting on the floor at my house watching The Little Rascals tv show with Freddy Fudd the Forest Ranger!! We went to grade school, middle & High School together. Mark will always be remembered by the friends & hundreds & hundreds of people he helped. Mark was an amazing person to know & I am lucky to have been one of the longest friends in his world. Love & peace to Mark & God´s blessing to his family.

To the Dopps family. My sincere condolences and prayers are with each of you. I only knew the younger Mark, but what fun we had we were young, and always knew he would grow to be exceptional and loving man.
