Matthew Reed Obituary

Reed, Matthew "Matt" George, Jr. of Wichita, Kansas was granted his angel wings on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at the age of 74 of complications resulting from a long battle with Alzheimer's. Matt was born in Chetopa, Kansas on January 7, 1938 to Matthew G. Reed Sr. and Lois Mercedes Smith. He graduated from Chetopa High School and went on to further his education at Oklahoma State University. Matt married Jeanetta Anne Brown on November, 16, 1964 in Coffeyville, Kansas and they enjoyed each other's company for 47 wonderful years. Matt was employed by Cessna Aircraft from which he retired from in July of 2002, after offering Cessna his expertise for 40 years. Matt was preceded in death by parents and son-in-law, John Dill. Matt is survived by his wife, Jeanetta; brother, James "Bud" Reed and wife Meredith. Daughters: Kelly, Lesley and her husband Todd Perkins. Grandchildren: Tiyson Pherigo and wife Chanda, Mason and Mattison Perkins. Great grandchildren: Hailey and Abbey Pherigo, along with many nieces and nephews. Celebration of Life Services will be held at a later date.
