Paul Joslin Obituary

Wichita, Kansas - Mr. Paul W. S. Joslin was born on March 20, 1958 in Parsons, Kansas to Gene and Mary Bess Joslin. He was an accomplished scholar, earning a Bachelor's degree in Music at the University of Kansas, a Masters in Musical composition from the American Music Conservatory, a Doctor of Musical Arts, and Juris Doctor degree from the University of Missouri - Kansas City. He was married on May 16, 1997. He is preceded by his parents, a sister, Ann, and nephew, Spencer Harrison Joslin. He is survived by his wife, Mia Joslin, son, Adam (Gabriela) Joslin, and his brothers, Charlie and wife, Denise, and Harrison and wife, Virginia Joslin. He will be missed very much. Services, 1pm, Fri, Dec 18, Clearwater United Methodist Church. www.wsmortuary.com

Paul gave me one of the only nicknames I've ever had - Perius. This was due to a "Roman phase" I went through after seeing the movie Caligula with him in Chicago circa 1986 or so. A few people still call me that to this day and it serves as my email address too!

I am so saddened by Paul's passing. I'm an old college friend from the Conservatory and called him today in hopes of arranging a meeting after not seeing him for many years when I found this out. He was always a bright light and made me feel good every time I talked to him or was with him. We palled around when he lived in Evanston. I remember his love of Wagner. Really sad I'll never hear that voice again.

So sorry to hear of Paul’s passing. A great friend growing up. Lots of fun in band & playing records at KLKC on Sunday afternoons. We shared countless hearty laughs. May family & friends all find peace in the celebration of his Paul’s life.
