Ralph Latimer Obituary

Latimer, Ralph Lawrence, 86, passed away Monday, Feb. 2, 2004 at 8:55 p.m. at the Carthage Health and Rehabilitation Center, Carthage, MO. Mr. Latimer was born Oct. 23, 1917 in Seward County, KS, the son of Lawrence N. Latimer and Annie (Kelly) Latimer. His parents and one sister, Myrtle Christine Latimer preceded him in death. He graduated from high school in Liberal, KS. He served in the United States Army during WWII. Mr. Latimer was the advertising manager for the Dairy Farmers of America, retiring in 1982 and the Southwest Missouri Cable Co., retiring in 1998. He was a member of the Carthage Lions Club, Midian Shrine and Scottish Rite, Wichita, KS; he was a lifetime member of the Carthage VFW Post #2590, a member of the Wichita Ad Club, the Wichita Downtown Club and the Professional Advertising Club. One sister, Blanche Grossman, Kingman, KS and one brother, Lloyd Latimer, Wichita, KS survive him. A visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 6, 2004 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Knell Mortuary, Carthage, MO. A graveside service and interment will be held Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the White Chapel Memorial Garden Cemetery, Wichita, KS. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Lions Eye Bank in c/o the Knell Mortuary, Carthage, MO.
