Richard J. Hattrup

Hattrup, Richard J., MD, 74, died August 20, 2005. Rosary will be 7:00 P.M. August 22, 2005 with the Mass of the Christian Burial being 10:30 A.M. Tuesday August 23, 2005 both at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Beloved husband, father, son and brother, he and Juanita Ternes were joined in Holy Matrimony Aug 4, 1952. Dr. Hattrup graduated from Creighton School of Medicine in 1957 and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1958-1961 following his internship at St. Joseph's Hospital in Wichita. Dr. Hattrup practiced Family Medicine in Wichita from 1961 until he retired in 1993. During this time, he served as President of Medical Staff at St. Joseph Hospital, Associate Director of St. Joseph Family Practice Residency Program and was a member of the Sedgwick County Medical Society. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Survivors: Wife, Juanita of the home, Sons and Daughters-in-law; Dr. Leo M. (Carol) of Monument, CO; Dr. Steven J. (Patricia) of Scottsdale, AZ; Michael D. (Sarah) of Wichita; Kenneth R. (Lisa) of Olathe; Daughter and Son-in-law; Clarann L. (Dale) Donaldson of Broken Arrow, OK, Grandchildren; Nicholas, Matthew, Laura, Emily, Allison, Michael, Stephanie and John Hattrup; Barry, Taylor, Erin, Lyndsay, Paige Donaldson; and Rachel (Guy) Pearson. Brothers: Fr. Theobald Hattrup OFM, of Cincinnati, OH; Vernon Hattrup of Overland Park, KS; Sisters: Leona Naab of Spearville, KS; Sr. Marilyn Hattrup, Order of Benedictine, Chicago, IL; Evelyn Burris of Columbia, MO. Preceded in death by an infant son, Paul R. Hattrup.
