Dear Joyce,
Our deepest sympathy and prayers are with you as you grieve the loss of your precious husband and friend. You were a such a beautiful example of God's love; each for the other and both for the Lord! May Psalms 27:13 bring you comfort and strength in the days ahead. "I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living." Our love, David and Cheryl Roland, Northeastern Indiana District

Dear William's family, My thoughts and prayers are with you all in this time of sorrow. Their are a lot of memories of Pastor. The one that sticks out to me, is seeing him play softball. The comment he made was you didn't know an old man could move. I liked getting those hugs and seeing that smile on his face. He was a blessing for many. I'm glad he was apart of my life. I love all of you!

Joyce and family: You have our thoughts and prayers during these hours. Brother Gene was a great witness for His Lord. I became acquainted with him many years ago while working with the Nazarene Youth in Bible Quizzing. He was a great worker in the Kingdom.

We have many precious memories of Pastor Williams over the span of 19 years while we attended First Church of the Nazarene in Wichita. My favorite memory is of a Christmas Eve family Communion service he led (when our girls were quite young) that was especially meaningful. As he prayed for each of us, it was evident he was praying from his heart. We were blessed. He will be greatly missed.

May of 1981, Rev.Dr. Williams conducted the last services for my 31 yr old nephew unexpectedly called home. I've never forgotten this, he brought such hope and comfort with his service that day. He made no assumptions of his piety for he hadn't known my nephew, but he knew his God and he knew His mercy, and his words have been a comfort to me all these many years. I wish you that comfort now. He was a fine servent of God.

May God comfort and restore, for our God is a very present help in our time of trouble. Sister Joyce, though sometimes the pain may seem unbearable, God will see you through. To me, Rev. Williams will always be "the pastor" of the Haynes family. I remember he came to First Church when I was in 2nd or 3rd grade. He went on a choir tour to the Dominican Republic with us. My parents renewed their vows on their 15th anniversary with him officiating. We have graduation pictures taken with him. I remember when he spoke at College Church while I attended MANC. And I'll never forget the eulogy he gave at my Mom's funeral in 2007. He's just always been there. Now I have one more reason to be excited about Heaven. And I'll be praying for his family that I know loved him and misses him terribly. Thanks for loaning him to so many of us for so many years!

Wichita has lost a true Champion for The Lord in Gene Williams. But, thinking of him being free and without illness in the arms of our Lord makes me smile. Gene was a connector for all denominations in Wichita and his impact on others has changed the lives of thousands in the Kingdom. Prayers for Joyce and Gene's wonderful Family. May God Bless them as they carry on his Heritage.
