Derby, Kansas - Theresa "Terry" Ilene (Gates) Tapp, beloved wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend passed away on February 20, 2022, in Derby, KS. She was born October 16, 1950, in Manhattan, KS, lived in Wichita, KS, Sedalia, KS, Castle Rock, CO and Derby, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents John Henry Gates Sr. and Mary Ellen (Wolf) Gates and her brothers John Harold Gates and William Robert Gates. She was the wife of Larry Tapp (43 years), and the mother of Andi Gill (Coty Gill) and Phil Tapp (Cindy Tapp). She was proud grandmother to Rachael, Robyn, Samantha, C.J., Veronica, Mary, Liam, Dylan (Liz), Joe (Kate), Autumn and Harley, and great-grandmother to Harley and Clara. She was aunt to William, Austin, Dustin and Trinity. Rosary at 10 A.M. Friday, February 25, 2022, at St. Mary's Catholic Parish Church, 2300 E Meadowlark Rd, Derby, KS followed by Funeral Mass. Interment will follow directly in Manhattan, KS. at the cemetery at Sedalia Community Church located at 6040 N 52nd St. All are welcome to attend. www.CochranMortuary.com

I am so saddened to hear of Terry’s passing. She was such a sweet light in spite of all she faced over the years. A true inspiration. I was her Massage Therapist, but I’m telling you, that hour with her was therapy for me as well. Larry, and family, you are in my prayers.

I can not say enough about the Tapps. I have been involved in caring for her while in our office since 2017 and I can say that I have always felt nothing but Love for them both . We at IDC are saddened that she has went home and very blessed to have her in our lives . Mine Especially. T.T. has been my rock through my transitions from one work area to another and I personally have lost a friend and a family member that I absolutely adore. I now that her Immediate family feels a loss and her Extended family also is bearing the loss of an Angel and my friend.
