Thomas Porter Obituary

Porter, Thomas M. 71, retired welder, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Kathryn (Burleigh) Porter. Survived by his brother, Dr. Robert and his wife, Rev. Joan Porter; nephews, Bryon and wife, Janell Porter, Dr. Brent and wife, Dr. Rebecca Porter; niece, Dr. Karin and husband, Dr. Tim Williamson; four great-nephews; and one great-niece. Tom was very active in the Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F.) in his younger years. Tom was an avid WSU Basketball fan. The family wishes to express their gratitude to his attorney and longtime friend, Mr. Timothy E. McKee. Memorial Service 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Hillside Funeral Home West Chapel, 2929 W. 13th, Wichita, KS, the Rev. Dr. Jerry Vogt, officiating. The family will be receiving friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to benefit the Palliative Medicine Division Legacy Fund at the University of Kansas Medical Center or the charity of your choice. Gifts should be directed to KU Endowment, 3901 Rainbow Boulevard, Mail Stop 3012, Kansas City, KS 66160. Online contributions may be made at www.kuendowment.org/give. Please indicate that donations are in memory of Thomas M. Porter.
