Thomas Thompson Obituary

Thomas Elliott Thompson

August 20, 1950 - November 28, 2024

Wichita, Kansas - On November 28, 2024, Tom lost his battle with pancreatic cancer and took the Highway to Heaven, where he was greeted by his eldest son James and other family members.

Tom was born in Huntsville, Alabama, but spent most of his life in Wichita. He graduated from North High and then WSU, where he was active in Beta Theta Pi fraternity.

In 1984, he started Associated Business Forms. After a successful career, he sold the business in 2021 and retired.

Tom was a DIY guy and had many hobbies, including silversmithing, knife-making, cooking, and all things outdoors. He loved playing and listening to music and singing in the church choir.

Tom will be remembered by many as funny, friendly, and kind. He had a wonderful smile, plenty of silly jokes, and an active mind. He was caring and protective of anyone who needed help.

Tom is survived by his loving wife and friend of 50 years Jeanne, younger son Jesse, sister Kendall Boster (Tim), faithful hunting dog Abby, and fat-cat Maggie. Tom was loved as a husband, father, brother, and friend. He is definitely missed.

His life will be celebrated January 18th, 2:00 p.m., at Plymouth Congregational Church (202 N. Clifton Avenue). In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Plymouth Church-Fine Arts.

I had many great conversations with Tommy at the Downtown Y, spanning several years. Tommy knew his music and had wry sense of humor. He will be missed by many, including a good number of our old Y guys. Condolences to his family and loved ones.

Tommy was a combination of so many good things to us. Kind, caring, loved having fun, great speaking voice, handsome, onery (sometimes) but most of all he was there for you and cared about others like no one else. I´m so very sorry to his wife who i never met but her pics looked like she was perfect for Tommy. One son in heaven, one on earth. The dog and beautiful cat. He lived the good life. My sympathy to the family. He will be missed.

I grew up a block away from Tom all through grade school, jr. high, and high school. Lost contact through the years. Sad to see old friends pass away.
