Timothy Cotter Obituary

Timothy "Tim" Parks Cotter, 80, of Plano, TX, passed away on October 16, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

Born in Wichita, KS, in 1945, Tim graduated from Wichita North High School in 1963. Even though he began his college education at Baker University in Baldwin City, KS, he ultimately earned his degree from Wichita State University. His distinguished Human Resources career included roles at Cessna, Boeing, the Coleman Company, and Envision - a non-profit organization supporting the vision impaired in the greater region. Beyond his professional life, he dedicated his time volunteering with the Kansas Foodbank and on the board of Wichita Camp Fire. A proud Wichitan and alumnus of North High School, Tim was an active participant in the Class of 1963 reunion committee for over two decades.

Tim was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was married to Doreen, also a North High Alumnus, for over 58 years. They started dating when Tim had just graduated high school and Doreen was still attending. They had two daughters, Meegan and Courtney. For the last 13 years of his life, he and Doreen resided in Plano, TX, to be closer to grandchildren there. Tim particularly enjoyed driving the grandchildren home from school and watching them play baseball and softball.

Tim enjoyed reading, collecting old Kansas license plates, and birdwatching. As a big sports fan, he always followed Kansas teams, particularly the KU Jayhawks Basketball and Kansas City Royals baseball; and stayed informed by reading the Wichita Eagle even after he moved to Texas.

Tim is survived by his wife, Doreen Cotter of Plano, TX; his children and their families: Meegan Cotter Flanigan and son-in-law Chris Flanigan, and their children, Marlee, Whitney, and Mason, of Plano, TX; and Courtney Cotter Huang and son-in-law Lung Huang, and their children, Parker and Archie, of New York, NY. Tim's extended family included sister-in-law Ka Cotter, of Dallas, TX, and brother-in-law John Ochsner (Kathy), of Overland Park, KS and their children.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lorenzo Leslie Cotter Jr.; his mother, Lois Parks Williams; and his brother, Lorenzo Leslie "L.L." Cotter III. A private celebration of life is scheduled in Wichita on December 27, 2025.
