Warren Schmidt Obituary

Schmidt, Warren W. 94, retired Air Midwest pilot, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2015. Warren left the farm near St. John, KS and joined the Army Air Corps out of Ft. Hays State for WWII, eventually assigned to the 509- squadron, with more than 2000 hours PIC in B-29s and 26,000 hours logged total. A natural pilot, Warren is now home with his Lord and his new set of wings. Preceded in death by parents, Charles and Anna Schmidt; brothers, Edward and Raymond Schmidt. Survived by wife, Elaine Schmidt, of Rose Hill; children, William W. "Bill" Schmidt, of Rose Hill, Suzanne Schmidt Brito (Raul), of Wichita; sister, Melba Woods, of Larned, KS; grandchildren, Mallory Brito and Christopher W. Brito (Kelsey); great-grandchild, Lydia Brito. A memorial has been established with Kansas Honor Flights, P.O. Box 2371, Hutchinson, KS 67504. Share tributes online at: www.dlwichita.com
