AGNES STARK Obituary

Agnes S. (Pilsl) Stark died on November 10, 2013, just 10 days shy of her 97th birthday. She was born in Kansas City, Mo., to Joseph and Theresa (Fierst) Pilsl. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Ernest A. Stark; her two brothers, Joseph and John; and five sisters, Theresa Soltis, Margaret Kohler, Rose Fasl, Helen Helm and Mary Louise Pilsl. She is survived by her children, Conrad (Edith) Stark, Glen Ellyn, Ill., Jan (Larry) Drury, Evergreen, Colo., Susan (Ron) Mayerle, Overland Park, Kan.; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Agnes was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church for 59 years, a member of their Women's Sodality, an active participant in the PTA and her children's scout troops. Throughout her lifetime, she was a keen reader of the Kansas City newspaper and had an avid interest in her hometown history. Agnes was also a career woman before her time and worked for many years in the personnel department of the United States Post Office located on Pershing Road. She treasured the many friends she made there. Per her wishes, Agnes was cremated and a celebration of her life will be held in the spring. In her memory, donations may be made to Misericordia Heart of Mercy Home, 6300 North Ridge, Chicago, IL 60660, Account 6082A.
