Albert Duane Clem, 74, of Lee's Summit, Mo., passed away at his home March 8, 2014, from complications with lung cancer. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, at Longview Funeral Home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 13, at Longview with burial to follow. Albert was born April 19, 1939, in LeRoy, Kan., to William and Dorothea Clem. He was the youngest of two brothers and one sister. On Aug. 24, 1964, he was married to Leanna Holmes. He attended school at Kansas State University obtaining a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering. He then went to University of Missouri, obtaining a Masters of Electrical Engineering. After school, he worked then retired from Honeywell after 38 years. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Air Force. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening, carpentry, and attending his grandson's ball games. He is survived by wife of 49 years, Leanna; son, Allen Clem; daughter, Dianna (Bob) Hicks; grandsons, Cameron, Caden, and Cale Hicks; and brother, Clarence Clem. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Wilma Park; and brother, Norman Clem. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Cancer Research.
