ALICE DEMPSEY PINNE

Alice Dempsey Pinne, 87, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2010. Mass of the Resurrection 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at St. Francis Xavier, 1001 E. 52nd St., Kansas City, Mo., with visitation from 8:30 to 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Jesuits of the Missouri Province, 4511 West Pine Boulevard, St. Louis, MO 63108. Alice was born July 23, 1922, in Brooklyn, NY, to Christopher and Alice Dempsey, the youngest of five children. She had a brother who was a priest and a sister that was a nun. Alice attended Angela Hall School in Brooklyn. She married Frederick J. Pinne on Feb. 12, 1944, in Brooklyn. Alice, Frederick and their four boys moved to Prairie Village, Kan., in 1960. She was a loyal member of St. Ann Parrish. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick J. Pinne in 1997; her parents; and her two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her children, Rick and his wife Wendy Pinne of Lawrence, Kan., Allan and his wife Nancy Pinne of Hilton Head, S.C., Fr. Chris Pinne, S.J. of Denver, Colo., and Terry and his wife Susan Pinne of Prairie Village; four grandchildren, Amy Wang, Marty Pinne, Jean Anderson, Madeleine Pinne, and Chris Pinne; four great grandchildren, Connor and Emma Wang, and Jack and Joshua Anderson.
