May 26, 2025

It´s Memorial Day and I was driving around with my son Jayden Anthony Massey and decided to google and dive in to see if I could show him how he got his name. My name is Jason and in Korea I made good friends with Anthony and Matthew Chapman. Matt and Anthony were super close but I loved hanging with them. I never got to meet his dad but when Matt and I would be out and about, Matt would occasionally call his dad to shoot the breeze. I remember the call when his dad told us he was gone. Anthony still holds a spot in our lives and his name will be carried with respect as Matt and I both incorporated Anthony into our son´s names. If this message finds Anthony´s dad I want to share my phone number so I may be able to meet him. 5025284345

I love this dude! I tried to convince him to join the Navy with me, but we all know Anthony! To damn hardheaded for his own good but I guess we all were. I’ve cried on many occasions over the loss of Anthony and don’t see an end of that I will be retiring soon from the military and often wonder why we’re not doing it together. I feel guilty and will never forget the sacrifice that Anthony made for all of us. I miss you my dude, and will NEVER FORGET YOU!!!

I was very proud to walk for Anthony today.

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Anthony, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

Going through past e-mails from a good friend, former husband and the father of my son, I came across an e-mail from July that said he was extremely sad from having attended a memorial service of a young man. I think that young man was your son. I cherish every e-mail with every fiber of my soul. You see, I also lost a great friend, former husband and the father of my son on Sept. 19, 2005. My hearts hurts, and I cry as I write this. May they all rest in peace. God Bless you all.

Dear Anthony,

It was the hardest moment of my life when I heard the news. You were like a cousin to me. Our mothers were childhood best friends and your mother was my godmother, so I remember when you were born and watched you grow into a man. You grew into who you destine to be, "A True American". I remember the times we spoke after you and your family moved away, and I remember being so proud when you got into music and started playing the drums and the guitar, being a musician myself. I remember talking about becoming rockstars one time we talked. I promise I'll live that on for you. I wrote a song with my band that is dedicated in your honor, because of your love for music.

You will always be in my memories. Goodbye for now, but not forever.

Love,

Brian

Many tears have been shed --first Peggy, then their son, Anthony. Countless prayers are being prayed for Mike and Nick--and their families. It does make us smile to know that Peggy and Anthony have been reunited in heaven. The smile on his face and the laughter and gentleness in his eyes will never be forgotten!! As neighbors (and friends) who watched this boy grow up, it is so hard to say good bye!! God Bless this family and the sacrifice made for all of us!!

Anthony will always be my hero, and my strength when i am weak. i grew up my hole life with him not only as my cousin as my friend. The trouble we got in the fun that we had i will never forget. He made me apprieciate life and all that was meant for when i was around him. His smile could light up a room his heart could fill a country with love. I said goodbye to him today in Dover. it was the hardest thing i ever had to do, but i promise from this day forward i will never take life for granted and i will have fun and do what i want the way my cousin would want me to! There is no other way to say it, Anthony was one of a kind. A blessing to all who he met. Those of us who had the priviledge to be with Anthony at school will understand how hard it is to know our friend has fallen. There will be no more bright smiles, and crazy band gigs to attend - but PLEASE do not let his memory fade.My heart is heavy now, but I will not forget... do not let his time be know as "too short", but at well lived. My condolenses to the family, God will keep His son safe now - as He has promised to do for us all.God bless you in your time of grief, and know that your son did more than serve our country... he served as a light of happiness to people, and he will continue to do so until we meet with him again.

Hello son

we are well.

I hear you made it to heaven

from the gates of hell

I don't have the words to thank you

for the high price you paid,

sadly the road before you

was already paved

Thank you so much

you gave it your all

you made me so proud

when you answered my call

Just like your father, grandfather too

they both died defending the red, white and blue

we owe them alot,

now we owe you too

I'm sorry you will never again see

the land you helped keep free.

But because you were so brave and bold

you will now walk streets made of gold

well I guess I better go

Still lots to do you know,

another letter yet to write

to a daughter I lost overnight

may God's hands embrace you

your job here is done

we will never forget you,

you are my native son.

with love, America

dear family:

please allow me to extend my deepest sympathy upon the loss of your anthony. no words can replace his loss, but your suffering is not alone. many years ago, in a different war, i had a friend killed in a military vehicle accident the day before he was to leave for home. he served his country in an outstanding manner as your anthony has done. i want all of you to know you are not alone. anthony, and all of his family, will always be honored and respected. may God give you strength to get through the dark night. may your tears dry soon, and may you feel the love of your fellow countrymen and women. from: jud malcolm - vietnam -70-71
