ANTHONY KAYE "(TONY)" WEST

Anthony (Tony) Kaye West, 65, passed away on Saturday, September 7th, 2013. Tony was born in Needmore, MO near Stockton, MO on March 1st, 1948 to John and Ruby West of Stockton, MO. Tony is survived by his son, Jarrod Nathan West, his daughter-in-law, Diana, grandson Lucas, step grandchildren Katie and Joseph of Odessa, MO. His daughter, Toni Ann Walker, his son-in-law, Jared, grandchildren Jadon, Zach and Abby of St. Joseph, MO. He is also survived by his brother Johnny (wife Sandy) West of Stockton, MO. Tony was preceded in death by his beloved parents John and Ruby West and his sister Molly Jo. Tony grew up in Stockton, MO where he graduated from high school. He and his family were faithful members at the Stockton Christian Church and he was baptized in the Sac River at an early age. He graduated college from Southwest Missouri State University and attended one year at Missouri University. His career began in sales for Anchor vet medicine. Upon his service for 18 years he attained the position of national sales manager. He then open and operated a success business in St. Joseph. Keeping with his adventurous spirit, he then began working as an insurance adjuster. Most recently he began to enjoy taking pictures of old barns and other historic items in hopes of preserving the heritage that he loved. He loved and was proud of his upbringing in Cedar County, his parents, his children, his grandchildren, his friends and his business ventures. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. A celebration of his life will be held at Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church in St. Joseph, MO on September 16th, with visitation between 4 and 6 where friends will be received and the service will begin immediately following the visitation. Another service will be held in Stockton, MO and will be posted in the Cedar County Republican at a later date. Services will be during the annual Walnut Festival following the parade at 4 at the Stockton Christian Church.
