BENJAMIN F. CORDER Benjamin "Ben" Franklin Corder, 88, of Lee's Summit, MO, formerly from Windsor, MO, passed away peacefully at the Missouri Veterans Home, Warrensburg, June 29, 2017. Visitation will be at noon, Saturday, July 8, 2017, service at 1:00 p.m. at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Road, Kansas City, MO; burial in Green Lawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Windsor First Christian Church or Windsor Historical Society. Ben was born February 17, 1929, in Martin City, MO, to John and Edna (Runner) Corder. Ben is survived by his wife, Kay, of the home, son, Keith, Grandview, MO; Step-Children, Todd (Karla) Clodfelter, Tucson, AZ, Belinda (Neil) Brown, Gravois Mills, MO, Karen Matthews, Lee's Summit, MO, and Richard (Sandra) Matthews, Philadelpia, MS; grandchildren, Kyle and Audrey Brooks, Kansas City, MO; Larry O'Dell, Sgt Bluff, IA and Erick Eakin, Sedalia, MO; Step-Grandchildren; Kristen (Sam) Douglas, Arlington, VA, Bryan (Kelsey) Clodfelter, Apache Junction, AZ, Tyler Clodfelter, Chandler AZ, Heather (Ken) Alderden, Mesa, AZ, Meleah (Marc) Davis, Huntsville, AL, Racheal (Michael) Carter, Gravois Mills, MO, Jacob (Samantha) Brown, St. Charles, MO, Aaron (Ashley) Plunkett, Republic, MO, John (Rebekah) Plunkett, Naples, FL, and Ashley Plunkett, Kansas City, MO; Step-Great grandchildren, Grace and Hope Douglas, Kayleigh and Blake Clodfelter, Ken and Rebecca Alderden, Mallorie and Megan Davis, Summer, Sara and Silas Carter, Olivia and Ellison Plunkett, Chloe, Isaiah and Lydia Plunkett, and Serenity and Sierra Plunkett; 102 1/2 year old mother-in-law, Wilma McAllister, Windsor, MO,, sister-in-laws, Janis Combs, Kansas City, MO and Shirley Corder, Grandview, MO and many nieces, nephews, step nieces and nephews and many friends. Ben was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Regina Brooks and son-in-law, Paul Brooks; Infant son, Benjamin James; siblings, John¸ Joe, Jim, Ruth Kenny and Anna. Ben was a Korean Veteran and belonged to the VFW, American Legion, Masonic Lodge (59 years)(Worshipful Master)¸ Ararat Shriners, Windsor First Christian Church, (Elder Emeritus), Lee's Summit Christian Church, Windsor Historical Society (President) and the Kansas City MO Unit (President) of the Wally Byam Caravan Club International (Airstream owners club). Ben and Kay organized rallies and organized and led several caravans for the Airstream Club. Ben retired from National Advertising at the Kansas City Star after 38 years and he and Kay enjoyed traveling until his illness prevented it. He also built several homes in the Kansas City area so his skills helped him with renovating a building that now houses the Windsor Historical Society museum. He also did many fundraisers (car shows, pancake breakfasts, rummage sales, etc.) for both the Windsor Historical Society and Christian Church and was very active at the Windsor Masonic Lodge. Ben was a loving husband, father and super grandfather and will be greatly missed but will leave us with many fond memories. Arr: Park Lawn Funeral Home 816-523-1234
