I've never had the privilege of meeting Ben, but being a former soldier, there's still that connection; plus knowing and loving Mona and Mike for so many years. Emily - we know this is going to be tough on all of us, but we will band together and do what needs to be done to get the children raised and you taken care of as well. Our tears will be flowing for days and some time years, but leaning on each other will be the main thing. Love ya sweetie.

To Ben's family: My heart aches for your crushed hearts. I wish there were words to ease your pain, however there aren't. The words God kept in my heart to try to bring me comfort after losing my own son is
Eccl 3:2 There is a time to be born and a time to die.
God kept in my heart that no one is going to die before their time and no one is going to cheat death and live longer.
I am so sorry you all have been thrown onto this off beaten path in life. While the rest of the world moves on, you will be left not wanting time to move on. You will always be a step behind the rest of the world, but know that there are others right there with you, a step behind.
May your memories bring a smile to your broken hearts as the tears fall soflty.
Ben......be with your family whether it be a gentle breeze through their hair, the sunshine upon their face or a beautiful butterfly or dragonfly flittering about them.

Emily, Dalene, RD, Nancy and the extended family, my thoughts and prayers are for you as you cope with the loss of Ben. I had the opportunity to meet Ben when he visited Dalene at the GSA building. He was a special person who obviously loved his family very much. May Heavenly Father fold you in His arms and provide comfort in the coming days.
