Betty Jane Bauman

Betty Jane Bauman, 81, Mission, Kan., died on January 3, 2007, at home surrounded by her family. Services will be 1 p.m., Monday, January 8, at McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Dr., Overland Park, Kan. Visitation will precede the service from 12 noon until 1 p.m. on Monday. Interment will be at Johnson County Memorial Gardens in Overland Park. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. Betty, the daughter of Landy Luetjen and Jack Novasel, was born on February 24, 1925 in Kansas City, Mo., and graduated from Paseo High School in 1941. She married William L. Bauman in 1943 and spent the next 10 years as a Navy wife, living in various parts of the country from San Diego to Pensacola. She moved back to Kansas City in 1953 and enjoyed a full and happy life as a devoted wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bill. Survivors include her daughter and spouse, Sandra and Jim Field; son and spouse, Michael and Sheri Bauman; grandchildren and spouses: Suzanne and Jose Rodriguez, Jennifer and Adam Auten, Daniel Ivan and Justin Bauman, and four great-grandchildren: Katie, Joey, Grace, and Samuel.
