Brenda Piatt Obituary

Brenda Crowder Piatt, 55, Grain Valley, MO, went home to her heavenly Father, Sunday, August 11, 2002, at the Independence Regional Health Center. A celebration of Brenda's life will be held Saturday, August 17, at 2 p.m. at the Waldo Avenue Restoration Branch, 819 W. Waldo Ave., Independence, MO. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Center Place Restoration School at 819 West Waldo. Mrs. Piatt was born December 18, 1946 in Alleghany County, VA, daughter of Theodore Ryland and Jaunetia Defibaugh Crowder. In 1967, she began work as a Flight Attendant for Eastern Air Lines in New York City and retired in 1979 in Atlanta. She then started the work most precious to her as a stay at home mother. The Piatt family gathered to Missouri in 1987 with Allen and Thelma Piatt. In 1991, she began work as a Unit Clerk in ICU at Independence Regional Health Center. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Waldo Avenue Restoration Branch. Mrs. Piatt was preceded in death by her father, Theodore Crowder. She is survived by her husband, Garry D. Piatt, of the home; mother, Jaunetia Crowder of Hot Springs, VA; three daughters, Cyndi Piatt-Pugliese and husband, Gene of Acworth, GA, Misty R. Piatt and Sarah E. Piatt of Grain Valley, MO; and one son, Garry D. Piatt II and wife, Chris of Snellville, GA; and six grandchildren, Amber, Hannah, Rachael and Garion Piatt, Aisling and Gabriel Pugliese.
