CARL THOMASON

1930 - 2017

CARL THOMASON Carl Wallace Thomason, 87, passed away July 30, 2017. Born February 9, 1930, in Mt. Vernon, IL, the son of Myrtle Thomason. During a leave from his service in the Korean War, Carl married Evelyn Louise McClure on Jan. 2, 1952. After his service, Carl returned to KCKS, and settled into a long career with Safeway. In 1969 he moved to Bucyrus, KS where they ran a restaurant, affectionately known as Quick Carl's. His later years were filled with his passion for the KC Royals and sharing stories from the past. Carl is survived by children, Wade (Kelly) Thomason, Brian (Carrie) Thomason, Tracy (Brad) Edmonson; grandchildren Kay Thomason and Brooke Ash; Haley and Zach Thomason; and Dani Stewart, Jessica Chapman, and Jaclyn Edmonson and great granddaughter Della Rae Chapman. He was preceeded in death by his wife, Evelyn Louise Thomason, and his mother, Myrtle Thomason. A memorial service and reception will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday evening, at Village on Antioch, 14895 Antioch Rd, Overland Park, KS 66221.
