Independence, Missouri - Carol Jean Mays, 88, of Independence, MO, former Missouri State Representative and owner of Jerry's Restaurant, passed away on December 15, 2021. She was born on July 16, 1933. Survived by her children Terri Mayeaux, Melanie Mays, and Hugh Mays; granddaughter Jessica Mayeaux and great grandson, Clarke Mayeaux. Services at Carson-Speaks Chapel on Tuesday, December 21: visitation from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm with funeral service at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Mount Washington Cemetery.
