Joshette E. Stowell (Josie Candillo), 54, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Friday, March 20, 2026.
Josie was born in Los Angeles, California on March 28, 1971 to Terry and Linda Candillo. She lived most of her life between Independence, MO and California. She attended William Chrisman High School then moved back to California where she met her husband Jeffery (Jeff) Stowell. Together they had two daughters, Alexandrea (Alex) and Brianna Stowell.
Josie was a forever Chiefs fan. She was everyone’s friend. She had a servant’s heart and valued everyone’s well-being. She was always helping those around her and she loved time spent with her family and friends. Josie also loved the Lord. She received Jesus as her Savior and was baptized when she was young. She read her Bible and found comfort in it.
She was preceded in death by her brother Jeffery Candillo and dad Terry Candillo.
She is survived by her estranged husband Jeffery (Jeff) Stowell, daughters Alexandrea (Alex) and Brianna; friend James Crane; Mother Linda (Doug Vetter and family); brother Joey Candillo (wife Megan and their children Caitlyn (Grant Truster), Josiah, Grace, Madison, and Jaxon); sister Cheryl Candillo and her children William Catanzaro (wife Jennifer and family), Brandon Catanzaro (wife Lacrisha and family), Manny Lopez (wife Brittany and family), and daughter April Johnson (and family); and sister Christy Candillo and her sons Justin Struttman (wife Nicole and family) and son Dakota Catanzaro (wife Tiffany and family). She is also survived by many family members and friends in California, Missouri, and beyond who will miss her deeply.
Visitation for Josie will be Friday, March 27th, 2026, at 6:00 pm with a service following at 7:00 pm at Grace Church, 1915 North Liberty, Independence, MO 64050.
