Gardner, Kansas - Christopher (Chris) Jackson, age 67, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023, in Gardner, Kansas. He was born in Bellevue, Nebraska, to Richard and Betty Jackson, on March 19, 1956. Chris was a very talented artist with oil pastels being his media of choice. He spent the past 30 years perfecting his style and craft and created a niche in the fine art market with his popular series called "Happy Trees." He had a strong sense of color stemming from his time working in the graphic arts and printing press industry. This was apparent in his work – trees, being a constant theme in his pieces, were instantly recognizable as his own with his exceptional use of color, form, and technique. His work has been collected throughout the world. Chris loved to travel and always loved being near the ocean, where he felt most inspired. True to his artistic spirit, he dabbled in photography with both film and digital formats, his subjects being his friends and loved ones. He is preceded in death by his parents. Chris is survived by his brother, Rick, and a loving extended family. As per Chris's wishes, a formal service will not be held.
