I didn't know Mr. Byers as well as others, but for the time I had I've never known a more kind and gentle human being. Whenever our paths would cross, he was always glad to see me. That alone made him special to me. A great husband, great father, great soldier, and most of all, a great human being. We'll never see his like again. Goodbye, Claude. You fought the good fight. Rest now and study war no more.
