CONNOR M. THOMSEN

Connor Michael Thomsen, 17, passed away on Dec. 11, 2010. Connor was born Aug. 17, 1993, in Overland Park, Kan., to Lori Thomsen and Mark Thomsen. He was a member of the Class of 2012 at Blue Valley Northwest High School. Connor was a loyal, loving son and friend. He will be remembered by family and friends for his kind manner, his warm, infectious smile and sense of humor. He loved music - everything from classic rock like Journey to indie bands like Owl City. He loved cars, skiing, watching movies, and spending time with his many friends. He displayed the skills of an aspiring architect -- first building Lego structures as a child, and later drawing extravagant sketches of buildings by hand and creating Sims buildings on his computer. He was a former member of the Blue Valley Northwest Howling Huskies Marching Band Drum Line, the Blue Valley Northwest swim team, and the Nottingham Forest South Neptunes Swim Team. Connor is survived by his mother, Lori Thomsen of Overland Park; his father, Mark Thomsen and stepmother, Kristin of Lee's Summit, Mo.; a brother, Stephen of Lawrence, Kan; stepbrother, Tyler and stepsister, Jayme of Lee's Summit. He also is survived by his maternal grandmother, Jean Bangert, Seward, Neb. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Fred Bangert, and his paternal grandparents, Norman and Devota Thomsen. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, at Church of the Resurrection, 13720 Roe Ave., Leawood, Kan. A reception will be held at the Church immediately following the service.
