To Dan's family and close friends, I want to express my most sincere condolences. I met Dan during the summer of 1977, when I worked at WDAF as the station's first female broadcast engineer. Although a few people at the station resented my taking a job that had always been held by a male, Dan went out of his way to make me feel welcome. From time to time he would make me smile by singing "I wonder what became of Sally." Ever since then, whenever I recall that song, I think of Dan and how kind he was to me. Earlier tonight, the song came to mind, and, as always, Dan voice and smile came with it. Soon thereafter, I learned of his passing. I'm sure I don't need to tell you how special he was or how many lives he touched. I just want you to know that mine was one of them. --- Dr. Sally Wengrover

Always a fan of Dan Henry. I remember one of his best sayings : "The family that sweats together sticks together." Saw him many times at Antoine's on the Blvd during lunch hour. Always friendly and welcome to conversation. My condolences to the family.

Dan was a friend to most of us, whether we knew him for years or just met. He and his family are warm, personable people who care for others. Dan was a great showman, fantastic singer, funny guy and hands down the best weatherman KC's WDAF ever had. My thoughts are with you Mrs. Bowser, Brian, Brad & Kathy. Tom Rooker

"Mr. Bowser" was a terrific teacher, and much respected by his students. It was his first year of teaching when he was my Geography teacher -- 65 years ago! My condolences to his family....

We have wonderful memories watching Dan Henry on the weather as well as watching him sing at the Barbershop Programs. Our daughters quartet won Harmony Expolsion back in 2001 to 2003 from Olathe East High School. We remember how nice Dan was to the girls and encouraging he was to them before they sang before hundreds of barber-shop lovers. Thanks Dan! Heartfelt Sympathy to the entire family.

My deepest sympathies to Dan's family and close friends. Though I only met him once, I found him to be one of the kindest gentlemen ever. He and Estyl welcomed me into their home. They were warm, interesting, funny, thoughtful and generous. He's in Heaven for certain & I hope to see him again.
May he rest in peace and may his family embrace the loving memories of this kind man.
