Aloha, Just wanted to let you know that I requested that Darryl's name be placed in one of the 6,000 lanterns for the annual Lantern Floating Ceremony going on in the water off Magic Island at Ala Moana Beach on Monday. They're expecting 50,000 people to attend. Included names of one of my neighbors and friend, a long-time friend, and my half-brother's, all of whom were lost this year. Thought you might want to know that I included Darryl's as well. We certainly miss him and will be thinking of him when we watch the ceremony live on TV Monday evening. It will also be live on line if you would like to watch it:

Aloha,

Paul & Willa Prosise

“The aim of Lantern Floating Hawaii is to give people a personal moment to remember, reflect, and offer gratitude to those who came before us. It is a chance to be surrounded by the love, understanding, and support of others - even strangers who are experiencing many of the same feelings and emotions. We are strengthened as a community as we reach out to support others and build understanding of our common values and experiences.”

Presented under the theme, “Many Rivers, One Ocean” — a nod to the nondenominational nature of the event, the evening featured Hawaiian chant, taiko drums, and Japanese harmony and purification ceremonies.

Miss you Papaw! Hard to find the words to express how much you brought to all of our lives but this is my attempt... You brought so much joy, guidance, happiness, order, laughter, flavors, structure and security. You gave your family the gifts of pride, purpose, confidence, loyalty, faith, family and so many wonderful memories. These things are priceless and are only given through hard work and devotion. Your love is something I have to hold on to forever. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
