DAVID LEE Obituary

David Stanley Lee, 61, of Leawood, KS, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at home after a valiant struggle with pulmonary fibrosis. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, February 20, 11 a.m., at Church of the Nativity, 3800 W. 119th, Leawood, KS, with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 2400 Troost Ave., Suite 4300, Kansas City, MO 64108. David was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on August 6, 1948, to Anne and Stanley Lee. He grew up in Minneapolis and attended Hopinks High School. He received his undergraduate degree in mathematics from Minnesota State University (formerly Mankato State), where he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. David spent much of his adult life with his family in Leawood, KS, where he worked for Target Saws and Blades for 25 years. He excelled in marketing and product development within the company and enjoyed getting to travel all over the country for his work. David's ultimate devotion was to his loving wife, Sara Tobin Lee, and his three children. He passionately followed their many activities and careers: Katie Lee, who works for Stowers Institute in Kansas City, MO, Mollie Lee, who works for Brancato's Catering in Kansas City, MO, and Maggie Affolter of Prairie Village, KS. Most recently, he was blessed with his first grandchild, Brooks Affolter, son of Maggie and Eric Affolter. David also had a love of collecting all things sports and media related and an enthusiasm for listening to and collecting music. David is also survived by his sister Ginny Way of San Antonio, TX, of whom he was very close.
