Dr. Lytle was such a kind and thoughtful pastor, always had time to sit and listen to a troubled teen, quick to be generous. He even bought an old house for the youth to have a place to go on Friday nights and more inviting than a classroom for Sunday school. When I complained about the senior high curriculum, he suggested I teach the junior high girls from the Bible. He listened for understanding and spoke God´s truth with stories about hunting and fishing. I tried to raise my children the way he nurtured me growing up. He and Marge modeled what a marriage should look like. So blessed to have had them in my life and as my pastor.

His kindness and service to my parents will always be remembered.
A great friend to both of my parents.

I will miss this wonderful man so very, very much. With me living in St. Louis, I haven't seen him for years. But it was comforting just to know he was still "there" in Kansas City as we continued to exchange Christmas cards. I hope he knows how very much it meant to me that he traveled all the way to St. Louis to marry my husband and I 24 years ago! Love you, Dr. Lytle!!!

A truly fine man. He lived what he preached and was such a source of comfort and inspiration to all who's path he crossed. We were so blessed to have him at BRBUMC. I can only imagine the wonderful reunion he had with Marge!

My father and Russell were contemporaries,
growing up just a few miles apart. both asttended SMS(Mo.State) and Garrett Theological Seminary at Northwestern University. I remember Russell from my MYF days and from the close friendship that our families had.
Many people remember his ministry and his wonderful wife Marge.
