I cant believe its been almost a year, I still look for you every morning thinking its just a bad dream and you will be back. Your the main reason i started watching Fox 4. I always looked forward to your smiling face and your jokes, you always brightened my day. We all love you and miss you!! Fox 4 will never be the same without you!!

This is such a sorrow filled day for me, I loved to watch Don and the morning newcasters every morning when I lived in the KC area. The journalism world lost a wonderful meteorlogist, and a wonderful human being, my thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

I just learned of Don's passing as I live in another state. Don was a bright light and now the world is a darker for it. We that had the great honor of being able to call you, Don, friend even if we never actually met are sadder because you are not here.
When I lived in KC I used to start my day with Don, Mark, and Lauren. When my job relocated me to another state I so, missed the morning staple of the team, Don, Mark, and Lauren, for the start my day.
Monica, I too lost my husband in a like manner to which you lost Don. It was so very hard for a very long time but eventually you, like I did, will begin to feel the wind in your face and the earth under your feet. My prayers are with you and your daughter as you face the challenges and loss of a wonderful man.

To the family and Fox 4 family, times likes these are difficult. My daughter text me from college when she heard because she knew I was a super fan. I will keep you all in my prayers. I, too, will miss waking up with a cup of coffee anticipating what the "Doppler" was going to be up to next. He started my days out with laughs and more laughs. He was a truly genuine person. What he did to bring laughter in soooo many homes was natural. He actually made his job look easy. I especially looked forward to holidays because I knew he would be dressed to fit the occasion (i.e. superman, playin the tuba, skating, irish...etc.) Wow!!!!! I will truly miss seeing the smiling face every morning. I still hear the laughter when I watch the morning news. Monica and Avery, thanks for sharing the "Doppler" with us. Monica and Fox 4 thanks for having a service for the entire public. It meant a lot to me as I felt the "Doppler" was like a family member to me. "Doppler" rest in peace. I will continue to watch Fox 4 and hear your laughter and not seeing your face.

To me he was Fox 4 News! I looked forward to watching him everymorning. I have since moved to Iowa when I heard about this. Everyone has lost a great person but Avery has the biggest loss and will never know her father(in person)Head up and take it a day at a time, remember those great memories! I was saddly as well as sorry to hear of the loss of such a great inspired man as I did of Mr. Don Harmon as we all knew him. He gave us all something to look forward to each day we would turn that channel to see him and all his cheers he had to share. he will be truly loved and missed by those that knew him as well as those that never meant him. Our family is very saddened by the loss of don..he was more than just the weather guy he made a impact on the younger meteorologist generation. The loss of Don affects so many people, and I have such sorrow for his family. We moved to the Lake of the Ozarks 9 years ago and have always kept FOX4 on our satellite to be able to watch Don, and his great smile, on the weather. Peace to you Don, and for your family.

Monica I lost my wife almost 8 years ago and you never get over the pain, but it subsides over time. I still miss Cindy, but can talk about her. I have some pictures I took of Don when you and him where here in Excelsior Springs when they crown him King. I would like to email them to you.

My son introduced me to Don on the Fox 4 Morning Show. He said, "You gotta see this guy! He is awesome, and so funny." I agreed and started watching too. What a great way to start the day. We were out of town on saturday and sorry we couldn't attend the service for Don. May God richly bless his family and give them the comfort that we just can not provide at this time. God Bless them.

You know just like everyone else,I didn't know Don personaly but when I heard of his passing it was like losing a family member. He aways had a smile or joke and was so passionate about weather and making everyone safe. Well now he is safe in God's arms and will never have to feel pain again. Condolences to his wife and daughter, family and friends. Don was a professional and I knew that when the weather was bad he would be there. Sometimes during an ice storm or a blizzard he would go to work at least an hour earlier than usual. He really cared about the people in our community. He was a weather spotter, calling in to the station from home or from his car. He was a tornado chaser, looking for the storm to make sure everyone knew where it was and to take safety precautions. Once I remember he was in the helicopter watching the weather. We really miss him.

I watched the first day he came on. And remember how Mark took him underneath his wings. And 2000 i moved to Colorado Springs,and recently moved back and turned to fox 4 and there he was, i was amazed he was still there with Mark in the morning. Funny man he was. rest in peace Don. Don could always make my mornings, no matter how bad I thought it was starting out. He will be sadly missed, but will alwys be with us in memory. Glad to have shared e-mails with him, about the weather. Or when he and Monica got married, and the arrival of Avery. Just to be able to tell him congratulations for those two occasions, meant alot. I can almost hear the laughter in Heaven now, for surely, Don, you have them all rolling in the aisles. What a gift you were! Many times, in life, we do not realize a good thing when it is happening. In your case, I treasured every 'performance'. I knew it was something special. Your humor was genuine and intoxicating.It was spontaneous and constant. It was a rare thing. My prayers go out to his family. Don was an amazing man and I watched him from 1999 until present and I've even met him in person on a couple of occassions and he had the gift to bring a smile to anyone's face. That is one of the reasons I loved watching him in the mornings. He always put a smile on my face even when I was upset.

I remember like it was yesterday the times you both came into our Pizza Shoppe in Martin City. Doc and I are not there anymore and I'm sure you and Don had come in for pizza after Pizza Shoppe inc. told us to vacate.
I really enoyed talking to you both and I wish I could have seen you 2 again at the Shoppe before we closed it down. You guys were always a bright spot for me when you came in to visit for pizza. It was neat seeing you 2 come in before Avery, during your pregnancy and of course you brought her with you after she was born. It was great seeing you 3 convinced we had a great pizza and felt comfortable in our establishment. You were one of the several families that I taked to about my father, his sickness and his untimely death. You both like many others realted and had kind words for me in my time of sorrow. I am so sorry, Monica I wish I could help...Don will be missed greatly by Doc and I. I have the pictures in my head of you 3 all happy together and full of pizza.
I remember one time Don came in for a pickup order and he was waiting behind a couple other guests. It was interesting and funny to me that while it was cold and yucky outside, here was Don in short sleeves and in sandles. Eventhough, i'm sure your pizza made it home hot and great.

Don: I will treasure the time we spent together when I bought you at the auction to benefit the American Heart Association. Our date was crazy fun and I enjoyed seeing the weather and news from behind the scenes. I was glad you took such an interest in the rehabs my business partner and I were doing and came out to see them. You will be missed by so many, but more so by me. My heart goes out to your family.
