Donald Kaser Obituary

Capt. Donald L. Kaser, 71, Kansas City, MO, passed away December 31, 2002, at his home. Memorial services will be Monday, January 6, 2003, at 2 p.m. at the Newcomer's White Chapel; inurnment in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Don Kaser and his family, in lieu of flowers, request memorial contributions be made to the American Syringomyelia Alliance Project, P.O. Box 1586, Longview, TX 75606-1586, on behalf of Robert K. Elliott's infliction with this disease Mr. Kaser was born in Delta, CO. He was a retired police Captain from the Kansas City, MO Police Department after 261/2 years of service. He had served as an Assistant to Chief Clarence Kelley and was instrumental in the formation of the Police SWAT Team and Helicoptor Division. Mr. Kaser was a Navy veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict and was a lifetime member of the Lebanon, MO, American Legion Post #43, having served as Vice-Commander. He was a past member of the Ararat Shrine and Scottish Rite; a former Kansas City Chief Red-Coater and 20 year member of the Elks Lodge. He had his private pilots license and was an avid fly fisherman and fly maker at Bennett Springs. He enjoyed hunting and was a dedicated Chiefs and Missouri Tigers fan. Mr. Kaser was a good father, husband and family man. Survivors include his wife, Jane Kaser, of the home; his father, Leo Kaser, of Grandview, MO; son, Kevin Kaser, stepson, Robert K. Elliott and his wife, Penny and daughter, Kimberly Kaser, all of Kansas City, MO; a sister, Duveen Mitchell, of Grandview, MO; and four grandchildren. (Arrangements: D.W.
