DONALD SEXTON Obituary

Donald Lee Sexton was born on January 20, 1929, in Council Grove, Kansas. He left us on September 14, 2016. Don graduated from Yates Center High School. On September 15, 1950, he married his high school sweetheart, Vivian (Knotts). He then enlisted for two tours with the United States Marines. Following his military service, he went to work as a train dispatcher for BNSF until his retirement. He loved coaching his son's baseball teams. He was a 50 year Mason. After leaving the railroad he started another full time job playing golf (4 holes in 1). He loved tending to his vegetable garden and gave tomatoes to everyone he saw. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Enos and Della Sexton, his brother, Lawrence H. Sexton, and his sister, Shirley Houtz. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Vivian Sexton, his two sons, Mike Sexton (Karen) and Mitch Sexton (Gail), three grandchildren, Katie Jones, Andrew Sexton, and Megan Sexton, and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on September 24, 2016, at the Stilwell United Methodist Church, 19335 Metcalf Avenue, Stilwell, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a memorial fund at the Stilwell United Methodist Church.
