Elizabeth Phillips Obituary

Reverend Beth Phillips, recently of Newark, CA, passed unexpectedly while she and her husband, Charlie Mabie, were visiting a friend in Northern California.

While in California, Mother Beth served as Rector of Christ Church Portola Valley - Woodside and later as Chaplain Resident of Stanford University and related hospices.

Mother Beth is survived by her husband, Charlie Mabie, of Newark, CA and locally, by her father, John R. Phillips; her mother, Paula Sue Phillips, her brother, Jonathan Phillips (Marlo) and their children, Olivia, Grant and Josephine.

Her full obituary appeared in the Kansas City Star on August 17, 2025.

Funeral services in California will be held on September 26, 2025 at St. James Episcopal Church, Fremont, CA.

A memorial service in Kansas City will be held at 2:00 p.m. on October 3, 2025 with a reception immediately following at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 6401 Wornall Terrace, Kansas City, MO.

Memorial contributions are suggested to either Ozanam at 421 E. 137th St., Kansas City, MO or the St. Luke's Hospice House at 3516 Summit St., Kansas City, MO.
