Elliott Homan Obituary

Elliott "Dale" Homan, 85, of Kansas City, Mo., passed away Monday, September 28, 2009. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 3, at 10 a.m., at the McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Road, Kansas City, Mo., with burial following in Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph, Mo. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2, at the McGilley State Line Chapel, from 6 to 8 p.m. Dale was born May 5, 1934, to Charles G. and Mary Ivy Homan in Clarksdale, Mo. He attended high school in St. Joseph, Mo. After serving his country in the Air Force during WWII, he returned and attended the University of Missouri in Columbia. Graduating with a degree in chemistry, he began work at General Testing Laboratory in Kansas City for a short period. He then spent several years as a chief chemist in Sands Springs, Okla., before returning to and retiring from General Testing Laboratory in 1988. Dale was preceded in death by his parents; brother Charles Norman; two sisters, Kathrine Proft and Marilyn H. Kenton, and son Mark Homan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and longtime partner, Ray Hill, and their dog "Luke". Arrangements are by the McGilley State Line Chapel - (816) 942-6180.
