Esther Carpenter Johnston Obituary

CARPENTER JOHNSTON Esther Lee (Welborn) Carpenter Johnston, passed December 23, 2007, at the age of 95. Esther was born in Kansas City on February 26, 1912, and was a lifetime resident of the area. She was a member of the Leawood Baptist Church, and lived the last 31 years at Armour Home in Kansas City. Esther married Clyde Leslie Carpenter on November 18, 1931, and he died on May 29, 1978, and later married Willard Johnston on June 6, 1987, he died on April 10, 1997. Survivors include children Eldon Lee Carpenter, Donna Louise (Carpenter) Dessert, Lois Jean (Carpenter) Warner, David Leroy Carpenter, 12 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at the Armour Home, 8100 Wornall Road, Kansas City, Mo., on January 2, 2008, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to VITAS Hospice, 4041 S. Lynn Court Dr., Suite 300, Independence, MO 64055.

Please accept my condolences on the recent death of your mother. She was very independent and wanted to main so until the end. I know she will be missed but hopefully you have fond memories to look back on in the coming years.
