Eugene Newton Obituary

NEWTON Eugene "Gene" B. Newton, 89, Liberty, MO passed away October 16, 2016. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wed. Oct 19 at South Liberty Baptist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior. Burial at Glenridge Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Church. Gene was a member of South Liberty Baptist Church where he faithfully served as Deacon Emeritus. He was a proud Army Veteran and retired from Ford Motor Co. Geneva and Eugene operated, G & E Drive-in, the first fast food restaurant in Liberty. He was preceded in death by his wife Geneva Newton; son Randy Newton; brother Robert Newton and sisters Marian Jamison and Mildred Tharp. Survivors include daughters, Kathryn (Douglas R.) Porter and Glenda (Jim) Hampton; daughter-in-law Kathy Newton; brothers Donald Newton and Earl Newton; grandchildren, Matthew (Sarah) Porter, Lucas Porter, Annie (Lance) Lorenz, Allie (James) Gregg, Christina (Mike) Scholdberg and Jason (Briana) Newton; great grandchildren, Blake, Aydin, Jadin, Abigail, Ethan, Lyla, Morgan & Titus and extended family members.
