FLORENCE STEELE Obituary

Florence Marie Steele, 81, of Lee's Summit, MO, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at John Knox Village House Care Center, Lee's Summit, MO. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 22, at the Lee's Summit United Methodist Church, in Lee's Summit, MO where visitation will be 10-11a.m.; burial in Floral Hills East Memorial Gardens. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Lee's Summit United Methodist Church, or the John Knox Village Care Center - Village House Hospice. Florence was born in Newton, Iowa, on June 11, 1932. She married Raymond Steele on December 30, 1951, in Martinsburg, IA. Prior to raising her family, Florence was a secretary for John Morrell Co., Ottumwa, Iowa. Prior to retirement Florence was a realtor for Century 21 Real Estate, Sioux Falls, SD. Florence and Ray spent their retirement years in Lee's Summit and also at their Lake of the Ozarks home in Sunrise Beach, MO. She was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed cooking, singing, boating, PEO, and most of all caring for her family. Florence is survived by her three children, Raymond B. Steele of Richardson, TX, Mrs. Brian Snader (Linda) of Libertyville, IL, and Randall J. Steele of Dayton, NV. Also surviving are six grandchildren. We were privileged to know Ray and Florence as neighbors at Lake of the Ozarks. So saddened to hear of Florence's passing. The family is in our prayers.
